The Refugee Collective Farm is home to the first Resilient Farm Plan in Texas. This regenerative agriculture practice centers on soil health to draw down carbon from the atmosphere. Once the plan is fully implemented, the farm will sequester 345 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent annually, the equivalent of taking 77 cars off the road.
Co-founder and CEO Meg Erskine and Farm Director Matt Simon shared with St. David's how the farm will utilize this promising agricultural approach to enrich the health of refugee communities, as well as our regional ecosystem.
